Dr Urbani obtained his undergraduate degree from the the University of the Orange Freestate in Bloemfontein, South Africa. Following his training and internship years in South Africa he worked in the UK for the NHS and doing RMO locums in private hospitals. In 2001 he left for Canada working as a GP in small rural towns of British Columbia and Alberta. He gained valuable experiences but the cold finally drove him to the beautiful shores of Western Australia. From 2006 to 2018 he worked in Perth as a GP and eventually concentrated solely on primary skin cancer medicine. He is one of only 70 Fellows Of the Skin Cancer College of Australasia. More importantly Dr Urbani is a big fan of Rugby Union. He also loves golf but is very average at it.
